MES AND PROP LIST
MES and Prop List
CINEMATOGRAPHY:
• The
cinematography I plan to use in my music magazine consists of the following:
• 1.
A medium shot will be used for my cover page, I have chosen to use this shot
because it allows the shot allows the viewer to pick up on the Artists movements
and gestures. This is conventional to
the R&B music genre because, artists of this genre have particular
movements and gestures that may symbolise their music and themselves.
• 2.
Another shot type I am planning to use is a close up, Close-ups are useful for showing detail and emotions, which will
be relevant for my magazine as it will give a natural display of the artist.
• 3.
As a camera position I am planning to choose a focus in order to place pure
emphasis on my artist in the front cover, within the frame everything will be
blurred with the exception of the artist.
COSTUME, HAIR AND MAKE UP:
• The
costume, hair and make-up I plan to use in my music magazine consist of the
following:
• 1.
Image one’s costume, hair and make-up will be used as a plain black revealing
top and straight hairstyle with a natural yet dramatic makeup. I have chosen to use this because it fits in
with the overall them of my magazine and, as it is a valentine’s edition this
dramatic look will be favoured by my readers. This is conventional to the
R&B music genre because the portrayal of my artist will appeal for my
targeted audience, as there is no targeted gender. The revealing clothing may
attract male readers more compared to the dramatic makeup, which may attract
more female readers.
• 2.
For the second look of my artist, she will wear a loose cream, V-neck jumper
and a soft messy bun as a hairstyle, with same naturalistic and dramatic make
up style. This is conventional to the R&B music genre as it again will
appeal to my targeted audience type.
BODY LANGUAGE AND FACIAL EXPRESSIONS:
• The
body language and facial expressions I plan to use in my music magazine consist
of the following:
• 1.
Image one’s body language will be the artist standing with their arms by their
side while their facial expressions will be a natural smile; I have chosen to
use this because it will create a realistic portrayal of the artist. This is
conventional to the R&B music genre because artists of this genre choose more
portrayals that are naturalistic and this body language is natural.
• 2.
Image two’s body language will be the artist will be slightly crouched and
still. Her facial expressions will be serious and her lips slightly pouted. I
have chosen to use this because it will create a slightly sexy look for the
artist, this is conventional to the R&B music genre because female artists
often favour sexy portrayals and this will attract the targeted audience.
SETTING:
• The
settings I plan to use in my music magazine consist of the following:
All of my images will be set in a
casual house; I have chosen to use this because it allows the artist to adapt
to the genre of R&B. This is conventional
to the R&B music genre because artists of this genre prefer to use more
relaxed settings for shoots.
ICONOGRAPHY:
I have not used any iconography within my shoot; this is to
continue with the realistic and naturalistic flow of the shoot.
LIGHTING:
• The
lighting I plan to use in my music magazine consists of the following:
• 1.
Image 1’s lighting will be high-key lighting; I have chosen to use this because
it will place more emphasis on the artist. This is conventional to the R&B
music genre because it will appeal to the targeted audience.
• 2.
Image 2’s lighting will be slightly low-key lighting; I have chosen to use this
because it will create a slight mysterious look for the reader. This is
conventional to the R&B sub-genre as this type of lighting is commonly used
and will capture more attention from my targeted audience.
• 3.
Image 3’s lighting again will be high-key lighting; I have chosen this
particular lighting in order to bring more of an awareness to the artist. This
is conventional to the R&B sub-genre as this particular type of lighting is
very commonly used in the R&B industry for shoots, videos etc.
ANY OTHER PROPS:
I have not used any other prop within my shoot; this is
because it was not necessary to use any extra items for a naturalistic shoot.
DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD- TEXT ONLY
Question: We all want to know what is going
on between you and Drake.
Answer: well… this has been asked for a
long while and the truth is we have started a relationship for a very long time
now. We just did not want to reveal it out everywhere, but now that it has been
asked a lot we both decided to now live our relationship openly, as it has been
a while we have been together. I personally did not favor living our
relationship very openly, only because I didn’t want our relationship to be
effected by what people say and the media plays a huge role in our lives and so
a wrong portrayal of our relationship would have really affected us.
Question: we all are wondering if both your
work life causes any problems between you both.
Answer: I mean it doesn’t have a huge
impact but sometimes we can delay each other due to long working hours but we
manage to get over that in our spare times.
We spend such quality time when we are together so it doesn’t have a bad
impact when we aren’t together. I cannot lie he simply is the best person in my
life and he treats me very good.
Question: since you both have huge fan
groups, has there ever been times where you have been jealous of one another?
Answer: it is very interesting that you
have asked this, I mean the main element for a relationship is trust and if you
don’t have trust in the person you are with then there really is no point of a
relationship. Yes we both are artists with amazing fan groups but we knew that
this was going to happen due to the career we have, overall we have not had
problems so far.
Questions: are you planning in going on a
tour together considering you are artists of the same genre?
Answer: well our relationship is important
to a side and so is our work, if things work out the way we want then I don’t
see a reason why not. We made a decision that we wanted to go before however
things didn’t work out as we were not available at the same times.
Question: which other artists do you find
talented and enjoy listening to?
Answer: in my opinion, I believe everyone
in the music industry has a talent. But personally one of my favorite artists
would be Queen B! Beyoncé, in my eyes is the most talented woman within the
R&B industry. Her voice, her appearance, her choreography in her concerts,
her dances and her shows are absolutely gob smacking.
Question: Which Artist inspires you the
most?
Answer: I would say Drake; this amazing
person has supported me from the first step I took until now. I could say he
truly believed in me even when I lost hope with myself and pushed me as high as
I could go. He is the reason why I am here in this position today.
Question: is there any goals you would say
you have not achieved yet?
Answer: I believe I am very lucky that I
have people supporting what I am doing and this was my ultimate goal: to make
people like my music. I believe I have achieved it however, now my main goal is
to keep this going forever.
Question: do you believe there is anything
you regret doing in your job?
Answer: I have never regretted a thing I
have done, as those small mistakes or regrets make me, myself. Of course we all
begin with small failures, but if I didn’t fail I wouldn’t have worked harder
and came to this position today. Also, I believe there is no person in this
industry that has not failed once during their careers and it would be really
unrealistic if you say you have not.
Question: What is the best characteristic
of Drake?
Answer: the best characteristic of him,
would be his supportive character. This man has the best heart, he is always
there for you when you most need him with all his love and care. This is what
really makes him stand out from every other guy.

proposal new
The genre of my magazine will be R&B; the genre of the
magazine will determine what the whole magazine will be based on. This will
help me to set an overall design and theme for my magazine which will present
to the audience that it is a R&B music magazine. I will use bold images of
the artist wearing modern clothing that R&B artists wear today, also I will
use a suitable design that will be persistent like a black and white boarder. I
will use suitable interviews from previous R&B artists as a board-line to
write my own interview on my artist. I will include information that will
appeal and capture the reader’s attention in order not to bore them.
I will dedicate my magazine to young people and no
particular gender so it appeals to both sexes. the socio-economic group that
will read my magazine is group E, this is 16 and over which will mean they are
mostly students, working part-time or even not working at all. I will set the
price of my magazine so that it will be affordable for my targeted audience as
if I set the price high then my dedicated audience will not be able to afford
it. The title of my magazine will be “DENSEM”. My house style for the whole
magazine will be sans serif, Georgia for the majority of the written texts
involving cover lines and the body texts. This specific font type is suitable
as it is easy to read and very clear. I will use the neon for my masthead, as
the modern looking font type is bold and easy to read, this simplistic font
type will capture attention and help to make readers recognise the magazine.
The neon is a sans serif font type. It will be a valentine’s edition, which
will mean I will use colours like red, pink and white to fit the theme. For my
flashes/streamers will be shaped as hearts as well to fit in with the theme.
The strap line is going to be “Is there a new love born between Drake and
Denizay?” this cover line will build suspicion for the reader and therefore
they would want to find out more and read on. The main cover line is going to
be “everything you want to know about Denizay…” I will include cover lines
involving extra information about other related artists, or even quotes from
the interview I will have on the magazine so it can grab the reader’s attention
right away. I will use different font types to place significance on the
different types of cover lines. I will
speak about the different things I will involve like an interview of the artist
or a page that involves everything the reader may want to know about the
artist. This will provide the reader with all the sources of information they
will be looking for in my magazine about the artist. I will include flashes and
screamers in my magazine, which will be bold and bright to place, focus in
particular texts on my front cover. The flashes will catch attention straight
away and give simple hints on what is upcoming in the magazine. One flash would
be “did Sema and Justin break up?” and the other is going to be “DENIZAY smashed
the records with her new album!” and as a screamer “THE SECRET LOVE IS
REVEALED!” My magazine will have three sections in total; consisting of a cover
page, a dual content page spread. My cover will include a masthead, a main
image, flashes/screamers, a main cover line, other cover lines and
date/price/barcode. The contents page will include any additional information
and page numbers of where to find whatever the reader is looking for. I will
have numerous images on the. The dating for my magazine will be the 14th
February 2017; the pricing will be £3.50 so that it will be affordable for my
targeted for my social economic audience.
